Father: Patrick Garcia
Mom: Shelly Quintana
Sister: Donna Mae Keys (Cahlen Keys)
Brother: Patrick Garcia.
My father, an old hard rock miner, raised me to respect my elders, be forgiving, and to be happy with the simple things. My mom, the honor I have for her and her service to this country is unmatched. She has taught me to be independent and to stand strong through any storm. My brother, the baby of the family, is very creative, artistic, musical, and someone I hold very dear to my heart. Donna Mae, the little sister I look up to, has a family of her own with her husband, Cahlen Keys. They have three beautiful children, Jaycee, Forrest, and newborn baby Brooks!
Father: Mark Davis
Mother: Barbara Davis
Brother: Evan Davis (Heather Davis)
My dad is and has always been the best man to look up to and be raised by. I've learned so much from my father, but I think everyone knows he still makes THE BEST cinnamon buns around! My mom, the sweetheart angel that she is. I'm so sorry for all those ER visits and medical emergencies... at least now she has someone who worries as equally as her about my well being. Love you mom! Evan and I grew up stereotypical, picking on each other or griping about something. I'm glad where all that has brought us and how our relationship has transformed. Although we are miles and miles apart, I'm thankful for technology allowing us to be present in each others lives!
Colorado wouldn't have been home without the New York Fam! I'm so blessed to have Yota, Brandon, Kevin & Beamer, and Jay, Britt & Little Leo to spend football Sunday and holidays with! Love you guys!
May 5th 2017
It was a whirlwind of a Spring. We sought out to buy a home for 3 months, putting offers in left and right to only fall short every time. We were blessed when an opportunity presented itself in Golden, not far from Amanda's work. This was an opportunity that could not be passed up.
On closing day, we were still loading the last of our belongings from the condo and cleaning up. Alicia was there to help and I told her of my little secret to propose when we got to the Golden house later that afternoon. Alicia tried to convince Amanda to take a shower or "doll" up for the closing appointment, you know, for pictures! Amanda responded, "This is not my first rodeo, I'll be fine. My closing agent doesn't care what I look like as long as my signature is good!" Little did Amanda know of what was in store for her later that day.
Verne and Tiff stopped by to help take the last load from Littleton to Golden. I had been working hard all day to get everything cleaned and packed up, so focused on the task. But inside, the anxiety was building for the moment I had been planning for for months. Would she say yes? Was this the right time to ask? What if she isn't ready?
When everyone arrived in Golden, Alicia was there to Amanda's surprise. Of course, she was there to document this first moment! Amanda and I walking into our first home together... Alicia was about to capture so much more!
Amanda opened the front door and noticed a large poster above the fireplace. This was odd, "Why would the previous homeowner leave a poster behind?" she thought. Then the wording became clear: "Marry Me?" Amanda swiftly whipped around to hear my memorized words fly out of my mouth in one breath, "This chapter is the start of our life, and in that chapter I want you to be my wife. Will you marry me?" Her heart began to race, a knot built up in her throat, and all she could do was begin to cry. Finally, after a long battle to catch her breath, she happily said "Of Course!"
"But I came to life when I first kissed you....The best me has his arms around you...You make me better than I was before...Thank God I'm yours. The worst me is just a long gone memory...You put a new heartbeat inside of me...You make me better than I was before...Thank God I'm yours"
Amanda's Version: I was stuck at home with a migraine and ran out of swipes. I got curious and adjusted my age range (24 to 34 years of age had to turn up something happy-hour worthy....) The match was eternity worthy! God knew exactly who I needed, prayed for and deserved. He put us in the right place at exactly the right time. Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for Ian, my Gift from God.
Ian's Version: Remembering how I found Amanda reinforces the saying that everything happens for a reason. It started with a very busy day in my truck, fighting traffic all over town. I was stuck at a long red light in a part of town I'd never been before. Sitting there long enough to realize the potential to find someone, I opened my phone and there she was! I remember thinking to myself, "I'd learn how to dance for her...." My Queen.
"I was a worn out set of shoes...Wandering the city street...Another face in the crowd...Head looking down...Lost in the sound of a lonely melody..."
Hailing from the East Coast in Central New York, I grew up in "the yellow house on the hill" known best for the haunted Halloweens that my father would spend hours setting up each year. Although surrounded by farms, I spent most of my time exploring the forest behind the house or snowboarding down the hill in front. Despite the great memories, after college graduation I drove 1500 miles to Denver to start the next chapter of my life. This chapter began in a house filled with friends and a couple dead-end jobs. As the years passed, and jobs filtered through, my friend circle always stayed close and became more like family. Now, building homes and starting a real estate company, I closed that soul searching chapter of my life in a new house, and with the love of my life, Amanda. The next chapter began the day we moved into our new house, when I got down on one knee. Thank God she said "YES!"
"I was a boat stuck in a bottle..that never got the chance to touch the sea...Just forgot on the shelf...No wind in the sails...Going no where with no one but me..."
I'm a small town Colorado girl. My country roots run as deep as the Aspen tree. I love my family and would do anything to make each and everyone of them smile. Mining put food on the table growing up, and it puts food on the table still today. I'm a Mining Engineer for an awesome company that is more like family. I cherish spending time with good friends and making memories we can laugh about for years to come. I am that person that loves rustic and refinished antiques, dancing all night long, camping with friends, fall football, and mimosa brunches! My favorite things to do are cuddle with my pups, spend time with my niece and nephews, and let loose with my best friend, Ian Davis.
I've always prayed for a partner that is my best friend, my better half, my love provider, my strong and steady. I found him. And I can't wait to be his Wife for all eternity.
Join us in celebrating our love and union as Husband and Wife!
Ian proposed to me in our new home in Golden, CO. ...I said "Of Course!"
